ROLE: Senior UX Designer, Microsoft Office Design, 2013-2014

SUMMARY: Smartphones have become an extension of oneself, like handheld tools of yesteryear. This project involved developing the mobile framework for the flagship Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) on Windows Phone, for Office 2016.

NAVIGATION MODELS FOR COMMANDING

Alternative models for the Office Ribbon. Each prototype was created in PowerPoint and contained clickable "hotspots" to simulate different interactions. They were used to evaluate alternative designs, with participants in Focus Groups and Cognitive Walkthroughs.

CONCEPTS AND CLICK THROUGH PROTOTYPES

Concept exploration and end to end commanding models for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. These were used to communicate the interactions and for iOS and Android teams to adapt to their respective platforms.
